Feb. 14, 2015, was a special Valentine’s Day for every resident at Life Care Center of Westminster, Colorado, thanks to Wish of a Lifetime, The Denver Hospice and a small army of volunteers.
The organizations teamed up to deliver 3,200 roses to 3,200 seniors in the Denver area, and smiling volunteers of all ages handed red, pink and yellow roses to each resident at the Westminster facility.
“A young boy gave a rose to me, and I was so delighted,” said one of the residents.
“We enjoyed seeing the happiness that a single rose brought to our residents,” said Jenny Matlock, executive director at Life Care Center of Westminster.
Wish of a Lifetime is a non-profit organization based in Denver dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of seniors.
